GFWC/Miosac Club news

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Ten members of GFWC/Miosac Club met Feb. 4. Vice President Laurie Ducat called the meeting to order.

She reminded members that the date to register for the Mariners game had passed. Suzanne Raymond will be attending. Ducat thanked Raymond for the annual reports. Raymond also noted that the directories have been delivered to businesses.

Secretary Diane Leighton took roll and read the minutes of the last meeting with no errors. The treasurer’s report was given by Anne Cress.

The change jar collecting money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was circulated.

ESO members were reminded to send reports to Marjorie Black.

Raymond spoke about the Maude McKenzie Scholarship, the scholarship committee will take care of that. 

The March 4 meeting is canceled due to the church not being available and the next meeting will be March 18.

A thank you note from the food bank was read for the many bags our contributions filled for children at Christmas.

A resignation letter from the president due to relocation was read with regret.

Ducat mentioned the high school art show is being worked on. Details will be announced.

Following the business meeting, Program Chair Kathy Ryder presented. It was an activity to get us moving and strengthening and toning our muscles. It was fun and a lot of laughter followed during the activity. Thanks to Ryder for a fun evening.

The next meeting on March 18 will have hostesses Raymond and Leighton. The program will be Roxy McGlauflin speaking about her recent trip to Africa. We are all anxious to see the animals she met!!

Refreshments were provided by Anne Cress and Vicki Moschella we enjoyed after our work out!
