VEHICLE CRASH — An 85-year-old man escaped serious injury Feb. 12 after he crashed his vehicle into the woods and it ended up on its roof.

He found his cellphone and called his wife, who summoned help. But when rescuers arrived, they couldn’t see the wreck. After combing the area, they found his vehicle upside down deep into the woods.

“This gentleman was extremely lucky…. He was well off the road and his car blended in with the surroundings,” the Dexter Fire Department said.

The man, who was wearing a seat belt, had been stuck in the wreck for nearly an hour.

No additional information was immediately available.
