Dexter wrestling finishes third at Class B North championship

BANGOR — The Dexter Regional High School wrestling team finished in third place at the 2025 Class B North championship on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Cross Insurance Center. The Tigers ended the day with a score of 148.5 points, trailing only the 229.5 points for first-place Mount View High School of Thorndike and the 212 points for runner-up Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln and ahead of 12 other schools.

Dexter’s Damair Miller won the individual Class B title at 157 pounds. In the championship finals Miller had a technical fall victory over Mason St. Peter of Caribou, 18-2 2:25.

The Tigers’ Wyatt Cram and Tanner Ladd both earned runner-up status.

At 138 pounds Cram was pinned at the 4:26-mark by Antonio Vieira of Mount View. Tanne Ladd finished as the 215-pound runner-up, being pinned by Mason Rose of Mount Desert Island High School at 3:17.

Noah Woodruff and Skighler Woodard each came in third for Dexter.

In the 120-pound consolation finals Woodruff earned a technical fall victory over Daniel Bosco of Mount View, 18-2, 5:00. Woodard had a 12-3 major decision win over Hayden Hanson of Foxcroft Academy in the 144-pound class.

The Tigers’ Matthew Severance and Quentin Rich both reached the consolation finals for fourth-place performances.

Severance was defeated via major decision, 9-1, by Mythias Travis of Belfast Area High School in the 132-pound division. Quentin reached the 175-pound consolation finals, being pinned at 3:42 by Remington Grindle of Bucksport High School.

Foxcroft Academy finished in ninth place at the regional finals with a score of 84.5 points.

The Ponies’ Nate Durgin came in third at 138 pounds. In the consolation finals he won via technical fall over Ashton Dill of Mattanawcook, 19-4, 3:00.

Hayden Hanson reached the 144-pound consolation finals, being defeated by a 12-3 major decision to Skighler Woodard of Dexter.

Piscataquis Community High School finished in 13th place with a score of 53 points.

PCHS’ David Tuttle came in second at 190 pounds. In the weight class’ championship round he fell via a 13-1 major decision to Ian Friend of Mattanawcook.

The Pirates Brady Ball came in fourth at 165 pounds. In the consolation championship he was defeated by a 15-6 major decision to Oden Pontillo of Mount View.
