Three local athletes win four events at EMITL championship
ORONO — Foxcroft Academy junior Conner Donahue won a pair of events and he came in second in another at the 2025 Eastern Maine Indoor Track League Small School championship on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the University of Maine’s New Balance Field House. Donahue accounted for 28 of the Ponies’ 35 points as the team finished fourth among a field of nine point-scoring schools.
Donahue earned top honors in the 200 meters with his time of 23.93 seconds. He was the only small school runner to break 24 seconds, besting the 24.16 seconds for runner-up George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill senior Rowan Gagne.
Donahue won the long jump at a distance of 21 feet, 10. He was about two feet further than the 19-09.50 for George Stevens sophomore Reece Renwick.
In the triple jump, Donahue came in second with a leap measuring 40-04.50.
Foxcroft picked up seven additional points in the shot put. Senior Jaxson Zimmerman finished third with his throw of 39-11.25. Senior Chhoterith Tycheatvisoth was sixth at 33-07.25.
The Penquis Valley High School boys came in eighth in the team standings with a score of 10 points.
Patriot junior Jareth Williams placed third in the 55-meter finals with his time of 6.92 seconds.
Senor Lucas Chai finished fourth in the triple jump at a distance of 39-02.50.
The boys from Piscataquis Community High School were ninth with two points.
Pirate sophomore Phoenix Brown picked up the pair of points with his fifth-place performance in the triple jump at 36-11.

In the girls’ meet, PCHS scored 32 points to place fifth among 10 schools.
Pirate freshman Ave Edes had the top performance in the high jump. She cleared the bar at 4-11, an inch ahead of the 4-10 for runner-up Central High School of Corinth senior Katie Miller.
Edes also came in fourth in the 55-meter hurdle finals with her time of 10.25 seconds.
Junior Ava Goulette finished second in the shot put as her top throw measured 34-05.75.
The PCHS 4×200 relay came in third in 2:04.61.
Junior Judith Jannsen was fourth in the triple jump at 29-06.50.
The Foxcroft girls recorded a score of 20 points to come in seventh at the EMITL championship.
Pony senior Alexis Heretakis won the long jump at a distance of 16-00.25. She was 4.5 inches beyond the 15-07.75 for Orono High School junior Easnadh Nobel To’olo.
Heretakis added a fourth-place performance in the 55-meter finals at 8.06 seconds as well as the 200 at 29.07 seconds for 18 of her team’s points.
Foxcroft senior Nina Huber finished fifth in the 800 at 2:54.64.
The girls from Penquis were 10th with four points.
Senior Kayla Hatt led by team by placing fifth in the mile in 6:58.44
Sophomore Violet Chai finished sixth in the 55-meter finals at 8.13 seconds Sophomore Ava Shoopman was sixth in the 200 in a time of 31.48 seconds.
