Dexter cheer finishes second at Class C North championship

BANGOR — The Dexter Regional High School cheer team finished second at the 2025 Class C North championship on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Cross Insurance Center. The Tigers earned one of the eight spots for the Class C championship, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Augusta Civic Center – time to be announced.

Dexter trailed only regional champion Houlton High School/Greater Houlton Christian Academy in the Class C North standings.

Foxcroft Academy finished sixth to also earn one of eight spots from Class C North for the state competition. 

Full results are 1. Houlton/GHCA; 2. Dexter; 3. Mattanawcook Academy; 4. Central Aroostook 5. Calais; 6. Foxcroft Academy; 7. Penobscot Valley; 8. Woodland; 9. Narraguagus; and 10. Fort Fairfield.

The top eight teams from Class C South also qualify: 1. Lisbon/St. Dominic; 2. Central 3. Bucksport; 4. Orono; 5. Mountain Valley; 6. Bangor Christian/Penobscot Christian; 7. Sacopee Valley; 8. Monmouth Academy; 9. Spruce Mountain; 10. Madison/Carrabec; 11. Dirigo; 12. Maine Central Institute; 13. Boothbay; and 14. Mount View.

.In addition to the 2025 Class C runner-up honor, this year’s Dexter cheer team is also the Penobscot Valley Conference Class C champion.
