Tiger wrestling finishes second at conference championship
BUCKSPORT — The Dexter Regional High School wrestling team came in second at the 2025 Penobscot Valley Conference championship on Saturday, Jan. 25 at Bucksport High School. The Tigers scored 139 points for the second-highest total among a field of a dozen schools, trailing only the 241.5 points for champion Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln.
For Dexter Wyatt Cram came in first at 138 pounds.
Weight class runners-up were Skighler Woodard at 144 pounds; Damiair Miller at 150 pounds; Quentin Rich at 175 pounds; and Tanner Ladd at 215 pounds.
Noah Woodruff won his consolation finals match to finish third at 120 pounds. Matthew Severance was fourth at 132 pounds.
Foxcroft Academy was eighth at the PVC championship with a score of 77 points.
Nate Durgin earned top honors at 138 pounds. Hayden Hanson came in first at 144 pounds.
Jacobi Poire was second at 165 pounds.
Piscataquis Community High School was ninth at the competition with 37 points.
