Film looks at homelessness in Maine

To the Editor;

Homelessness is an issue everywhere in Maine. While the homeless are a very visible presence in the larger towns and cities, in the smaller towns it is more invisible with people living in their cars or couch surfing with friends and family. If like me, you’ve ever wondered, what is this about, why is this happening, now, and to all these people, come see the movie “Building Hope: Ending Homelessness in Maine” to get one perspective on this problem, and stay for a panel discussion led by Jennifer Weatherbee Lolar, the Homeless Response Service Hub coordinator for Community Health and Counseling Services, and Jennifer Dunton, project coordinator Host Homes Program, for Penquis, during which you can hear other perspectives and even give your own if you want to.

The movie will be at the Center Theatre in Dover-Foxcroft at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19, and it’s free.
