Alward promoted to EVP, chief operating officer at Skowhegan Savings Bank

SKOWHEGAN — Skowhegan Savings Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of Vicki Alward to executive vice president, chief operating officer. With 17 years at the bank, Alward has played a key role in its growth and community commitment.

As COO, Alward will oversee day-to-day operations, including operational risk, compliance, process efficiency, and technology. Her expertise will enhance performance, drive innovation, and maintain the high customer service standards Skowhegan Savings is known for.

Alward began her career at the bank in 2006, serving as vice president, risk management officer.

She was promoted to senior vice president, chief risk officer in 2015 and advanced to executive vice president, chief risk officer in 2023. Her leadership has been instrumental in establishing Skowhegan Savings as a trusted community partner.

“Vicki’s promotion reflects her leadership and commitment to excellence,” said CEO David Cyr. “Her experience and strategic vision will be crucial to advancing our operations.”

This promotion coincides with the leadership transition at Skowhegan Savings. Cyr, will retire at the end of 2025, and Dan Tilton, currently EVP of sales and customer relations, will assume the roles of president and CEO on Jan. 1, 2026.

Before joining Skowhegan Savings, Alward was a CPA at Berry Dunn McNeil and Parker and served as a loan review officer at another bank. Her background in finance and operations will be an asset in her new role.

A Thomas College graduate, Alward is active in her community, serving on the boards of the Somerset Economic Development Corporation, Redington-Fairview General Hospital, and the Skowhegan Savings Charitable Foundation. A native of Madison, she now resides in Cornville.
