FA’s Donahue wins long and triple jump
ORONO —- Foxcroft Academy junior Conner Donahue earned top honors in both the long jump and the triple jump at a Penobscot Valley Conference/Eastern Maine Indoor Track League meet on Saturday, Dec. 28 at the University of Maine’s New Balance Field House. Donahue would account for all 28 of the Ponies’ points as the team came in sixth among nine schools scoring points.
Donahue won the long jump at a distance of 21 feet, 1, 1.25 inches ahead of the 20-00.25 for Brewer High School senior Cody Bailey.
Donahue had the meet’s top performance in the triple jump with his distance of 39-09. He again bested Bailey as the runner-up, this time by 2.75 inches as the Brewer senior jumped 39-06.25.
Donahue also came in second in the 200 with his time of 24.49 seconds.
The Penquis Valley High School boys had six points to tie Bangor Christian for eighth place.
Patriot junior Jareth Williams came in third in the 55-meter finals with his time of 7.01 seconds.
