Shiretown Singers begin new season

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Shiretown Singers announce the start of their 2025 spring concert season! The new community choir had a successful introductory season, performing seasonal songs in December at the Dover-Foxcroft Hometown Holidays and at Ice Dance International’s Holiday on Ice. Now they are preparing for a spring concert, to be held May 3.

The Shiretown Singers are led by Artistic Director Allison Aldrich Smith, an experienced choral director and song leader who was trained at Boston University College of Music and has over 40 years of experience. “I believe that everybody can and should sing, especially with others. It’s good for body, mind and spirit,” says Smith.

The songs planned for the spring season range from standards to Mozart, folk to gospel and more. We are an all-inclusive community choir. No auditions or experience needed.

Research shows many benefits in singing, and we hope that you will discover for yourself the joys of singing in a friendly, joyful community of song.

Rehearsals begin Jan. 8 from 6-8 p.m. at the Dover Foxcroft United Methodist Church, 156 East Main Street.
