Dexter boys improve to 3-0 with victory over PCHS

DEXTER — The Dexter Regional High School boys basketball team jumped out to a 12-0 lead during a Dec. 13 Class C North contest vs. neighboring Piscataquis Community High School and never looked back on the way to a 60-30 victory. The Tigers improved to 3-0 on the young season with the win.

The game was moved back three days due to inclement weather earlier in the week and was the host Tigers’ second game in 24 hours. The adjustment gave the Pirates (who fell to 1-1 following the team’s first road contest of 2024-25) its first game in a week.

In the early minutes Dexter had six shots from the floor to jump out to a 12-0 advantage with junior Bryce Cooper picking up six of these points for the first half dozen of his 17 total on the night. He trailed only classmate Isiah Robinson on the scoring sheet with Robinson picking up a game-high 20 points.

A few minutes later a pair of free throws from PCHS junior Brady Gaw — who reached double figures with 11 points — made the score 15-6, but after this Dexter would never lead by single digits again.
