Penobscot Valley Conference honors

A number of athletes representing all five of the region’s high schools received postseason honors from the Penobscot Valley Conference for the 2024 fall season.

For Class C cross country, Ella McClintock-Hatch and Annabelle Peakes of Dexter Regional High School were both named to the girls Second Team.

Runner Jarrett of Foxcroft Academy was chosen for the boys Second Team, and Foxcroft’s Pace Jarrett received honorable mention recognition. 

An Inspirational Award was presented to Jacee Lounsburg of Dexter.

The PVC field hockey First Team includes McKenzie Clay, Lexi Vafiades, Preslee Dow, Sunny Bache, and Abby Trafton of Dexter; Emma Bither and Jaiyde True of Foxcroft; and Piscataquis Community High School’s Molly Goodwin.

Second Team players include Emily Greenlaw and Emma McGary of Foxcroft and PCHS’ Alivia Koscielny and Kiara Moore.

Bither was named the PVC Player of the Year.

For girls soccer, the Class C/D First Team includes Alexis Heretakis and Jasmine Hall of Foxcroft. The Ponies’ Maddie Kimball is a Second Team player, and Celine Rush of Foxcroft received honorable mention recognition. Glenn Graef of Foxcroft is the Coach of the Year.

Among the 8-player ranks, First Team players from the area are Desiree Adams and Abilene Corson of Dexter and Penquis Valley High School’s Lauren Veino. The Second Team includes Amara Driscoll of Penquis and Greenville High School’s Lakely St. Jean and Justyce Hart. Skyler Gulley of Dexter was named to the Third Team.

Corson is the 8-player Player of the Year. Coach of the Year honors went to Dexter’s Jody Grant.

Girls soccer Spirit of the Game honorees are Annabelle Peakes of Dexter, Noa Clark of Foxcroft, Haley Ferland of Greenville, Mackenzie Fernald of Penquis, and Baylynn Grant of PCHS.

For boys Class C, Terry Pham and Hawken Hall of Foxcroft are both First Team picks.

For boys Class D, the Second Team includes Penquis’ Caiden Fowles and James Chenkin.

The boys 8-player First Team includes Liam Mason and Ocean Turner of Greenville, Dexter’s Brenden Berg, and Brady Gaw and Gavyn Gilbert of PCHS.

Second Team players include Logan Adrien of Greenville and Gabe Cupero of Dexter. Chase Lander and Noah Kain are honorable mention players.

Mason is the Player of the Year. Coach of the Year honors went to Trey Gilbert of PCHS.

Spirit of the Game honorees include Cole Doherty of Dexter, Hayden Hanson of Foxcroft, Liam Mason of Greenville, and Nikolai Gallipeau of Penquis.

PVC All-Academic students include cheer: Andrea Gillman of Dexter and Samantha Brunner of Foxcroft.

Cross country: Lillian Cooley of Dexter and Runner Jarrett of Foxcroft.

Field hockey: Preslee Dow, Alexandra Vafiades, Brianna Vafiades, McKenzie Clay, and Kierra Bennett of Dexter; Emma Bither, Madison Gaylord, and Emily Greenlaw of Foxcroft; and Khloe Kimball and Gabriella Koscielny of PCHS.

Golf: Cole Doherty, Ethan Doherty, Chase Farnsworth, and Willis Rienhardt of Dexter; Calvin Landry, Joshua Knap, Cameron Pratt, and Chhotherith Tysheatvisoth of Foxcroft; and Ocean Turner of Greenville.

Boys soccer: Cole Doherty of Dexter; Khoa Ho, Khang Nguyen, and Nghi Pham of Foxcroft; Ocean Turner of Greenville; and Gavyn Gilbert of PCHS.

Girls soccer: Avery Fogler, Claire Fogler, Abilene Corson, Lillian Cooley, and Amelia Greaves of Dexter; Noa Clark, Alexis Heretakis, Shaelyn Jankunas, and Madyson Kimball of Foxcroft; Haley Ferland of Greenville; and Mackenzie Fernald and Rylee Heal of Penquis.
