By Marie Weidmayer, Bangor Daily News Staff

The third man accused of hindering the prosecution of a Bangor homicide case appeared in court Monday afternoon, Nov. 4.

Dylan Boyce, 31, of Exeter is accused of hindering apprehension or prosecution, a felony, for his alleged role in the death of 27-year-old Dylan Caruso. Caruso, who was from Corinth, was last seen Sept. 30 on lower Ohio Street in Bangor. His body was found in a wooded area in Exeter on Oct. 23. The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide

One man, Kenneth Creamer, is charged in Caruso’s death.

Boyce is the third man to appear in court for his alleged role in Caruso’s death. Dylan Belanger, 31, of Corinth and Holden Melvin, 32, of Charleston had their first appearance Nov. 1 for the same charge. Neither man entered a plea. They were each granted bail, but have not posted it as of Monday afternoon.

Boyce did not enter a plea during the hearing, which is standard procedure in felony cases. The Class B charge will be presented to a grand jury that will decide whether or not to indict him.

Boyce is in the Somerset County Jail on an unrelated case. His bail in the Penobscot County case is being deferred until his court appointed lawyer is able to review the case. His next court date is Jan. 13.

Creamer, 35, of Exeter is charged with murder in the case. He was denied bail and is in the Penobscot County Jail.
