Center Theatre to present ‘Jamie Wyeth and the Unflinching Eye’

DOVER-FOXCROFT – The Center Theatre is pleased to announce that it will be screening “Jamie Wyeth and the Unflinching Eye” at 3:30 p.m. daily from Oct. 25-31.

This marks the first feature-length documentary about the artist. The film explores Wyeth’s journey as an artist, from his struggles to find his own voice in the wake of a prominent artistic family to his portraits of famous figures such as John F. Kennedy and Andy Warhol. “Jamie Wyeth and the Unflinching Eye” also examines Wyeth’s unique perspective on domestic life, the Maine islands and his personal experiences.

“Someone in the community recommended that we try to play this movie and I’m thrilled that we were able to get it on the schedule,” said Patrick Myers, executive director of the Center Theatre. “This is an exciting film exploring the life and work of a great Maine artist.”

“Jamie Wyeth and the Unflinching Eye” is directed by Glenn Holsten and runs for 80 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at the Center Theatre box office, 20 East Main Street, Dover-Foxcroft, by calling 5207-64-8943, or by visiting www.centertheatre.org.

The Center Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission to engage and inspire by making arts, education and entertainment accessible to rural communities.
