Camden Shakespeare Festival returns to Monson

MONSON — Camden Shakespeare Festival, Monson Arts, and The Center Theatre will present Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors” outdoors in Monson on Saturday, July 27 at 2 p.m. (the rain date is Sunday, July 28 at 2 p.m.). Perhaps Shakespeare’s least Shakespearean play, “The Comedy of Errors” is a hilarious farce about two twins who end up in the same town, each unaware of the other.

“This show has a lot of music, singing, clowning, and funny business. It is probably Shakespeare’s most fun show to perform, and least Shakespearean,” says Director Stephen Legawiec. “This play has it all: madcap comedy, mistaken identity, seduction, slapstick, bad puns, and a family reunion beyond belief. No play contains more comedy, or more errors!”

Attendees should plan to bring blankets or camp chairs to enjoy the play which will be presented outdoors behind Tenney House, 47 Tenney Hill Road. Tickets are only $14 for the public and $8 for kids 14 and under and $12 for members of the Center Theatre. For tickets and more information, visit www.CenterTheatre.org or call the Center Theatre at 207-564-8943. Tickets will also be available at the door.
