Dover-Foxcroft gets colorful with sidewalk chalk art walk and local history stroll

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The sidewalks of East Main Street in Dover-Foxcroft are about to become a vibrant canvas for creativity and a journey through time! On Saturday, June 29 join us for a unique event that combines artistic expression with a celebration of local history.

Art walk and chalk from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., unleash your inner artist and participate in a community sidewalk chalk art walk. Stations will be set up along East Main Street with colorful chalk provided, but feel free to bring your own favorite washable artistic supplies. Let your imagination run wild — create stunning murals, playful designs, or historical scenes that reflect the heritage of Dover-Foxcroft. This event is open to children and artists of all ages and abilities, making it a perfect family-friendly activity.

Local history walk, while you’re strolling and creating, take a step back in time with a guided local history walk with Chris Maas at noon. Explore informative signage placed throughout East Main Street that highlights the area’s fascinating past. Learn about the buildings, businesses, and people who shaped Dover-Foxcroft into the vibrant community it is today.

Artisans showcase local craftsmanship, as you wander along the art walk don’t miss the opportunity to meet and support talented local artisans. Witness the creation of beautiful pottery, handcrafted brooms, and the mesmerizing process of spinning wool from Angora bunnies. These demonstrations offer a glimpse into the heart and skill behind traditional crafts.
