GETTING STARTED — The Maine Woodland Owners and Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District will hold beginner chainsaw training on June 28 at the Williamsburg Forest.
Beginner chainsaw training
WILLIAMSBURG TWP — Join the Maine Woodland Owners and Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District on Friday, June 28 for beginner-level chainsaw training at Williamsburg Forest. The class runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the fee is $20. This hands-on training provides instruction on saw handling and maintenance, protective equipment, firewood cutting, and tree felling. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch and a folding chair.
The workshop is not a full Certified Logging Professional training. Participants may use their own saw (saws will be available for those who do not bring one). Safety gear is available. Registration is required on the Maine Woodland Owners’ website at www.mainewoodlandowners.org/chainsaw-training.
