Abbot presents Boston Post Cane to Page

ABBOT — Ida Mae Page was recently awarded the Boston Post Cane as being Abbot’s eldest citizen. She is 95 and soon to be 96 on her Feb.
Ida Mae Ames was born on Feb. 17, 1928 to parents of George Everett Ames and Ruth Hope (Rowe) Ames.
Ida married Thomas Kirk Page on Nov. 12, 1948. They were married until the time of his passing on Oct. 7, 2011. In 1948 they came to reside in Abbot on the “Page” farm, where they raised their children: Edward (Eddie) Page, Georgena (Genie) Bouffard, Jeannette Page, Reginald (Reggie) Page, Rebecca (Becky) Smart, and Coriden (Corey) Page. They have 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and three-great-great grandchildren.
Ida was very active in the community including being a Cub Scout leader and a youth Grange leader.
