Songwriters in the Round 2

DOVER-FOXCROFT — On Saturday, July 8 at 7:30 p.m. Maine songwriters Erin Boyer, Alexandria Thomas, and Sara Trunzo will be taking turns playing their original songs and sometimes telling stories about what inspired them. This special evening will take place at the Central Hall Commons, 152 East Main Street, and is hosted by the Maine Highlands Council for the Arts.

Boyer grew up in Dover-Foxcroft but has spent the last 10 years living in Vermont, traveling abroad in India, and living in Russia. She utilizes song to process life and understands art as a reflection of the subconscious mind. Thomas was born and raised in Troy, Alabama but moved to Maine in 2022 to take a position teaching music in Guilford. She’s been playing guitar and singing publicly since age 14 and says it’s always been an amazing way for her to connect with others and make people happy. Trunzo, a songwriter, curator, and community organizer delivers songs with, what Adobe and Teardrops describe as, “a sense of empathy that few songwriters can attain.” Her single “Food and Medicine” reached No. 3 on the Folk Alliance International chart, won first prize at the 2018 Maine Songwriters Association contest, and was a runner-up in the 2023 International Acoustic Music Awards.
