Center Theatre presents Barney Martin with a gift for early ticket holders

DOVER-FOXCROFT – The Center Theatre is excited to announce an upcoming concert by the talented Barney Martin at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 28. As a special treat, the first 150 to purchase advance tickets will receive a free Maine pine tree seedling.

Martin, who began playing guitar at the age of 13, has a storied history in both music and theater. His solo acoustic performances have taken him across the United States, the Bahamas, England, and France, while his acting career has seen him perform in a British Isles touring theater group and as a guest performer in an Acadian folk music and dance troupe touring central France. In addition to his musical pursuits, Martin has also appeared in commercials, independent films and even a TV movie of the week. With a passion for harmonies and a love for James Taylor’s music, Martin offers a delightful setlist, honoring the singer/songwriters of the 1970s.

“We are thrilled to welcome Barney Martin to our stage and share his incredible talent with our community,” said Patrick Myers, the Center Theatre’s executive director. “The addition of the Maine pine tree seedlings for early attendees was Barney’s idea since the date of the concert is, in fact, Arbor Day.”

Tickets for Martin’s concert can be purchased online at www.centertheatre.org, by calling the box office at 207-564-8943, or by visiting in person at 20 East Main Street.

On Sunday, April 23 at 2 p.m. Martin will be doing a special guest performance with the UMO Men’s chorus singing James Taylor’s “Lonesome Road”. This will be performed at the Collins Center for for the Arts at the University of Maine.
