Online presentation on black bears

Join Jen Vashon, Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife’s black bear biologist, as she shares information about black bears in Maine and how to safely coexist with black bears. Vashon will share information about bear behavior, their life history, and habitat and diet, as well as, where you are likely to find bears in Maine, what you can do to prevent conflicts with black bears, and provide tips in case you have the rare opportunity of encountering a black bear in Maine.

This is a Zoom event, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, with time for questions.

Vashon specializes in the conservation and management of Maine’s black bear and Canada lynx populations. Vashon received her bachelors of science in wildlife management from the University of Maine and a masters of science in wildlife science from Virginia Tech.
