UMaine Extension offers Lunch and Learn preserve green beans workshop

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Preserving green beans will be the focus of a University of Maine Cooperative Extension Lunch and Learn workshop from noon to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday July 22 at the Piscataquis County office, 165 East Main Street.

The workshop will include a demonstration on freezing green beans and discussion of safe and tested recipes for a pressure canner. Learn ways to enjoy your garden-grown green beans year-round.

Also available that day will be free canner pressure gauge testing from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Annual testing is recommended to ensure accuracy. No appointment is needed.
