November highlights at The Commons at Central Hall

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Jeremy Loguercio, program and marketing director at The Commons at Central Hall, recently announced the special schedule of events for November.

Get ready for a fun afternoon and evening at the second annual Fall Folk Festival on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 2-7 p.m. Enjoy home-cooked foods, shop artisan vendors and listen to fabulous music performed by Troy Youngblood — entry fee is $5.

Learn how to remove your homestead from speculative real estate markets and place it into a member-run trust to be cared for over the long-term by its residents at the Land in Common Public Discussion on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 1-4 p.m. Land in Common creates a multi-generational land base for sustainable livelihoods to support communities working for just, cooperative and resilient futures.

Change your thoughts to change your life when you attend this month’s NAMI presentation, “Unraveling Negative Thoughts for a Brighter Future,” at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

The Elder Abuse Awareness and Response Workshop will take place on Friday, Nov. 15. You can learn how to identify and respond to suspected elder abuse at this event sponsored by the Elder Abuse Institute of Maine. Available resources and how to assist those in need will be the focus of this program.

At the end of the month, the Alexander Technique Weekend Workshop will help us to discover a new balance in the body by releasing unnecessary tension. This 3-day workshop occurs Nov. 22-24 — registration is $200.
