Permaculture Walk ‘n Talk at Law Farm

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District will be offering a free Permaculture Walk ‘n Talk at the Law Farm on Sunday, November 3. Come join us as we casually discuss ideas, topics and design projects with our returning friend and certified permaculture designer Steve DeGoosh of LOMAH Homestead and former assistant professor from Northern Michigan University in Earth, Environmental and Geographical Science. Joining him will be Nancy Neal of Honey Brook Farm, who recently planted her feet in Maine and is a certified Permaculture designer with an impressive background and passion for design and beekeeping. You can learn more about Neal’s honey bee story and business at www.ifbeescouldtalk.com.

“Permaculture can be a way of thinking and change your whole perception on the way you see things,” says Neal.

The district’s goal for 2019 was to raise awareness within the community about and establish an interest in Permaculture, which is to be implemented at the Law Farm in the future. This event is free, the second of our three-part Permaculture series. The Permaculture Walk ‘n Talk will be an informational gathering for folks wanting to learn more, see examples of how permaculture could be adapted and ask questions from permaculture professionals, all while enjoying the outdoors.

Do you want to learn more about Permaculture? Come join us on Sunday, November 3 from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Law Farm public land as we casually discuss different implementation ideas, gardening design methods and concepts within our natural ecosystems. Don’t miss our series finale of the three-part permaculture series offered by the district on Friday, November 11 at the Thompson Free Library — a showing of the documentary “Inhabit: A Permaculture Perspective.”

If you would like to attend the Permaculture Walk ‘n Talk or the showing of “Inhabit” at the Thompson Free Library, please register by emailing info@piscataquisswcd.org or by calling 564-2321 ext. 3. We look forward to exploring Permaculture concepts with you all.
