Juniper String Quartet performs at Center Theatre

DOVER-FOXCROFT — On Monday, October 21 students in Piscataquis County and members of the community will have the opportunity to enjoy a performance of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra’s Juniper String Quartet when the group visits Dover-Foxcroft. The talented musicians will be visiting with school children to both educate and perform before arriving at the Center Theatre for a 7 p.m. performance.

“This is what the Center Theatre is here for,” said Patrick Myers the Theatre’s executive director, “to act as a catalyst to make arts, culture, education and entertainment available to our rural communities. This project checks all the boxes.”

TWO PERFORMANCES — The Juniper String Quartet, from left Amanda Cushman, Lynn Brubaker and Linda Theriault on violin and Timothy Garrett on cello, will be performing for area school children on Monday, October 21 and then playing for the community at 7 p.m. at the Center Theatre in Dover-Foxcroft.

Myers said that the BSO contacted him nearly a year ago about the possibility of bringing an ensemble into the community. He contact Kaitlyn Young and Alecia Griffin at the SeDoMoCha School who organized the activities there.

Tickets are $12 for the general public, $10 for Theater members and only $5 for students 18 and younger.Tickets can be purchased at the Center Theatre, by calling the Theatre at 564-8943 or online at www.centertheatre.org. The Center Theatre is a 501(c)3 nonprofit with a mission of making arts, culture, education and entertainment accessible to our rural communities.
