Dexter Public Health Association selected as Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program beneficiary

DEXTER — The Dexter Public Health Association, a non-profit committed to providing in-home, free nursing services regardless of income status, has been selected as a beneficiary of the Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program for the month of May.

The Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program launched in October 2015, is designed to support local nonprofits through the sale of the reusable community bags.

Dexter Public Health Association was selected by Hannaford store leadership as the May beneficiary of the program at the Dexter Hannaford store. For every reusable community bag purchased at the Dexter Hannaford in May, Dexter Public Health will receive a $1 donation.

“We are delighted and excited about being chosen for Hannaford’s community bag program,” said Nancy Hoskins, president of Dexter Public Health Association. “We are thankful because this donation will further allow our professionals to provide free nursing services to people living in the communities of Dexter, Garland, and Ripley.”

Dexter Public Health Association has a goal of raising $100 during May, which is equivalent to 100 bags bought in support of DPHA. Please consider purchasing a Community Bag for yourself or as a gift for someone during the month of May to support DPHA. Because there are other bags for sale at the Hannaford store that are not “community bags,” be sure to ask the manager or other Hannaford employee for a “community bag” for purchase to support the association.

The Dexter Public Health Association is a non-profit based in Dexter. Founded in the 1930s, its nurses have worked continuously to help the residents in their service area needing in-home nursing services, free of charge, regardless of income status. If you are in need of help from the nurses or need to borrow medical equipment, please call 944-6443.
