Barbara H. (Emhoff) Morin
Barbara H. (Emhoff) Morin, 89, of Stafford Springs, CT, wife of the late Joseph Morin, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 23, 2018. She was born in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late John and Mary (Tadler) Emhoff. Barbara was a graduate of St. Joseph’s College in West Hartford, CT, and then went on to become a Sister of Mercy and school teacher. She taught and made liturgical banners as a nun for 30 years before leaving the convent and moving to Guilford, Maine. While in Maine, Barbara met and married her late husband Joseph, and then took care of her mother in Maine until her death. Barbara then returned home to Stafford Springs, CT to be with her family. Her hobbies included gardening, weaving, quilting, embroidery, and making braided rugs. She was also a parishioner of St. Edward Church, and member of the St. Edward Church Ladies Guild and Secular Franciscans Fraternity. Barbara touched and enriched the lives of many near and far. She is survived by her two brothers, James Emhoff and Henry Emhoff and his wife Janice; sister-in-law, Eleanor Emhoff; brother-in-law, John Mihaliak; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six siblings, John, William, George, Larry, and Thomas Emhoff, and Dorothy Mihaliak. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 11 A.M. at St. Edward Church, 55 High St., Stafford Springs, CT (please meet at the church). Burial will take place privately in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Edward Church, 6 Benton St., Stafford Springs, CT 06076.
