Chamber ribbon cutting helps Butter Stick Bakery break bread with the community

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Butter Stick Bakery on East Main Street was formally welcomed to the area with a Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 24.

Chamber Executive Director Denise Buzzelli thanked those stopping by during the late Saturday morning.

“We are so excited to have (owner Lisa Kingsbury) here in our community,” Buzzelli said. “It’s always so awesome to watch someone’s dreams come to pass.”

“It looks like she’s already had a great start,” Buzzelli said as a steady of flow of customers came in right before and immediately following the ribbon cutting.

Buzzelli read a letter from U.S. Rep. Bruce Poliquin, R-Maine congratulating Kinsburgy on the opening of Butter Stick Bakery, which has had its ovens cooking since Feb. 19 in the former home of Shiretown Pizza.

“Everything has been so positive and the whole community has been so supportive,” Kingsbury said. “I love being here and I plan on being here forever.”

With the trio of employees and her family members, fellow members of the Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce and customers all looking on, Kingsbury cut the ceremonial ribbon in front of the counter and case to welcome the Butter Stick Bakery to town.
