Norma June (Major) Tully
Concord, CA – Norma June (Major) Tully passed away peacefully on September 2, 2017 in Concord, CA. She was born in Peapack-Gladstone, NJ on August 28, 1923.
Norma graduated from Morristown High School. Attended All Soul’s Hospital School of Nursing, Morristown, NJ. She served as an Army nurse cadet at the Army hospital in Tuscaloosa, AL during WWII. She had a long career as a
registered nurse at Glen Lora Nursing Facility, Chester, NJ.
Married Edward J. Tully in 1945 and raised 5 children in Mendham, NJ before retiring to Monson, ME. Since 2012, Norma resided in Concord, CA to be near her California family.
She is survived by daughter Sharon (Richard) Smith, Monroe, ME; son Edward Lawrence (Leslie) Tully, Davis CA; daughter Marianne Patino-Tully, Bergenfield, NJ; daughter Cynthia Tully of Los Osos, CA and son John (Sherry) Tully of Concord. CA. Sister Carol Potts of Asheville, NC. Grandchildren: Melissa Smith, Rich Smith, Shane Tully, Derek Tully, Nicholas Patino, Jessica Patino, Alexander Keerd, Kyle Tully, Elizabeth Parsons (Tully), and Great Grandchildren Kailynn Tully, Allison Tully, and Adelynn Parsons.
She was predeceased by daughter Patricia Lynn, brother Walter, and husband Edward.
Norma was a devoted wife and mother. She was very talented at knitting, played the organ for the church, took delight in her dachshunds, and was known to enjoy cookies so much, she would hide them from everyone. She touched
many lives and will be dearly missed by all.
A celebration of life ceremony will be scheduled in 2018 in Monson, ME.
