Nunsense is ‘miraculous’
DOVER-FOXCROFT — A large crowd enjoyed the opening night of “Nunsense” at the Center Theatre in Dover-Foxcroft on Friday, Aug. 11. The cast of five women brought the audience to their feet and it seemed everyone left with smiles on their faces after seeing this hilarious musical comedy.
“Nunsense,” written by Dan Goggin, is being directed by Derrick Buschmann with musical direction by Deb Fournier. The comedy tells the story of the Little Sisters of Hoboken, who are holding a variety show to raise money to bury the last 4 of 52 nuns accidentally poisoned by Sister Julia’s tainted vichyssoise. The show includes solo performances, dance routines and many, many laughs.
Showtimes at the Center Theatre are Friday, Aug. 18, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 19, at both 2 and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 20, at 2 p.m.
In a new twist, the show will also be performed at Greenville High School on Saturday, Aug. 26, at 2 and 7 p.m. for all the performances are $12 in advance, $10 for seniors, students, and members of the Center Theatre, and $15 at the door.
