Motorcycle charity ride to stop in Guilford on Aug. 20

Two businesses are coming together to help raise money for the homeless pets at the Bangor Humane Society.

Russ Maynard of Blackstream Custom Cycles in Hermon is partnering with Dysart’s Restaurant on Broadway in Bangor to organize a charity motorcycle ride and concert for the shelter with proceeds benefiting the agency’s annual Paws on Parade event.

The ride takes place on Sunday, Aug. 20 and starts at the Bangor Humane Society. Tickets are on sale now. The cost of the ride is $25 for single riders and $30 for double and includes the ride, a meal and live music. The ride will start at the parking lot across the street from the Bangor Humane Society and kickstands will go up at 11 a.m. sharp. The ride route will break in Guilford where riders can enjoy lunch, music and door prizes at the Red Maple Inn. The route will continue back and conclude around 3 p.m. at Dysart’s Restaurant on Broadway for hot dogs, burgers and live music with the Jimmy Brown Band.

“We so appreciate the support from generous local individuals and businesses, especially this time of year,” says Stacey Coventry, director of development and public relations. “This time of year the number of animals in our care increases dramatically causing our expenses to skyrocket, while our financial contributions tend to wane. Past charity rides have been a great success, raising thousands of dollars for us, so we are looking forward to partnering with Dysart’s and Blackstream Cycles for this year’s ride!”

For tickets you can call Blackstream Custom Cycle at 207-409-6904 or Dysart’s at 207-942-4878. Tickets can also be purchased in person at either the Hermon or Bangor Dysart’s locations or at the Bangor Humane Society. Tickets are also available for just the meal and concert for the same price if individuals prefer not to ride. Get them today to guarantee your spot and to join the fun!
