William E. Allen

Omaha, NB – William E. Allen (formerly of Dexter, ME) passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017. Bill was born in Skowhegan, ME on January 7, 1943, son of Frank and Virgie Allen of Roller Skating Fame. Bill graduated from Dexter High School in 1961 and married his high school sweetheart, Charlene Nightingale of Garland, ME. He graduated from the University of Maine in 1965 with a degree in Engineering and a commission in the US Army, as a 1st Lieutenant. Most of his military term was spent in German (66-69). Bill was employed in the chemical industry. In later years Bill enjoyed summers at Sebec Lake with his parents and brother Bob and brother-in-law Errol Nightingale of Garland, ME. After retirement he enjoyed the Florida Keys. He is survived by his mother, Virgie Allen of Dover-Foxcroft; wife Charlene and daughter Kim of Omaha, NB; son William of California; brother Bob of Surprise, AZ; brother-in-law Errol Nightingale of Garland, ME; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
