Fatal fire in Orneville

FATAL FIRE IN ORNEVILLE — The identify of a man who died in a fire early Tuesday morning has been released. WABI-TV 5 reported that the body of 53-year-old James Drinkwater was found in the rubble of his Little Boyd Lake Road home. The station said Drinkwater died of smoke inhalation, and due to the extensive damage the cause of the fire can not be determined. A neighbor called the blaze in at around 1:30 a.m. on May 30 and when firefighters arrived the structure was engulfed in flames. WABI also reported that two dogs died in the fire. Piscataquis County contracts with Milo for fire coverage in Orneville Township.
