Cushing honored for half century of Kiwanis service
DOVER-FOXCROFT — John Cushing, former lieutenant governor of Div. 2 Kiwanis — part of the New England Kiwanis District, was honored at the May 16 meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Dover-Foxcroft.
Kiwanis President Brian Woodworth, Past Lt. Gov. Bob Moore and current Lt. Gov. Buddy Webb presented Cushing with a Legion of Honor certificate and pin denoting 50 years of committed service and membership in the Kiwanis organization.
In addition the Kiwanis Club of Dover-Foxcroft has made a $1,000 donation in Cushing’s name to the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute (KPTL) at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. The Red Jackets, worn by many New England Kiwanians, represent $1,000 donations to KPTI. Additional donations are indicated by a badge attached to the Red Jacket. KPTI has treated and saved hundreds of children from traumatic injuries over the past 35 years.
Kiwanis Club of Dover-Foxcroft members are truly grateful for Cushing’s 50 dedicated years of service to Kiwanis and the community.
