Public invited to hear strategic plan results
GREENVILLE — The Moosehead Lake Region Economic Development Corporation will host a presentation of the Moosehead Lake Regional Strategic Action Plan on Monday, May 8, at the Greenville Middle/High School auditorium from 3:45 pm to 5:30 pm.
The MLREDC contracted Future iO to facilitate development of the Moosehead Lake Regional Strategic Action Plan to meet the following goals: Create an 8-10 month economy that is sustainable; grow the population of the region by 25 percent with a strong emphasis on younger residents (ages 20-45) and families; and maintain the natural and cultural character of the area.
Over the last six months they have engaged a broad range of stakeholders from across the region, culminating in the Future Think-Tank Workshop, which was held on March 9 and 10 in Greenville.
The Action Plan framework and recommendations have been drawn directly from the planning and engagement process, and are a series of strategic actions that can be achieved in the short to medium term, and are intended to produce catalytic shifts that will fuel an economic change.
Future iO will present the Moosehead Lake Regional Strategic Action Plan, providing details on each action including, opportunity/purpose, challenges, bright ideas and expected outcomes, leadership and key partners, timeline and required resources.
The MLREDC invites all interested community members to come to the presentation to hear the results of the plan and discuss working towards implementing the plan into the future.
