SoupStock will help feed those in need

SANGERVILLE — SoupStock 2017, to be held Saturday, April 8 from 5-7:30 p.m., is a fundraising event to benefit the food cupboard at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Sangerville and Dover-Foxcroft.
Patterned after Empty Bowls, an international project to fight hunger, personalized by artists and art organizations on a community level, SoupStock has involved the creation and decoration of over 100 bowls made from clay, fiber and wood. Besides the several dozen church members and friends, participation has come from Lyn Black Pottery; Maine Alternative Solutions/Spinning Out Clay; Mike Kagan; the Monson Pottery Workshop; and Mudville in Sommerville, Mass.
Admission to SoupStock 2017 includes a handcrafted bowl, soup, bread, dessert, beverage and music. The church is located on the corner of Main and Church Streets. For tickets, please call Carol at 745-9682 or Joan 717-6170.
