Input sought for broadband assessment surveys
DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Piscataquis County Economic Development Council (PCEDC), partnering with Axiom Technologies, is asking for help from the public.
The community-wide broadband assessment creates a roadmap for expanding broadband access throughout the county. The assessment process includes a needs assessment (from both community members and businesses), asset mapping, a technology advancement plan and a plan for increasing digital literacy.
The assessment seeks to identify the needs of community members and businesses, utilizing targeted surveys. These surveys will help the PCEDC and Axiom Technologies identify needs and opportunities.
The surveys are ready to launch, starting with the region’s businesses. Understanding the needs of business is critical to the process, it affords an opportunity to invest in a manner promoting growth, attraction and retention of businesses through understanding broadband and workforce development needs. The business survey can be found at www.surveymonkey.com/r/piscataquiscountybusinesssurvey.
A survey for our residents will follow in early March.
