Dave’s World wins national Mitsubishi honor

DOVER-FOXCROFT – Dave’s World, which sells and installs heat pumps, has received Mitsubishi Electric’s first Three Diamonds Award. The award was given to Dave’s World during Mitsubishi’s national Diamond Contractor Conference in Connecticut. Dave’s World is the only recipient of the Three Diamonds Award, and is a Mitsubishi Electric Heat Pump dealer, servicing the entire state.
“We like to think that we do things a little different here and we work a little harder in Maine,” said Matt Scott, vice president at Dave’s World Modern Energy Solutions. “Mitsubishi has recognized us for that hard work in the past, and now they awarded us with the very first edition of what looks to be a very prestigious award. We are humbled and honored by the recognition.”
In 2015, Dave’s World was given the Dealer of the Year Award by Mitsubishi. In creating the Three Diamonds Award, Mitsubishi created three levels of criteria: marketing and advertising excellence, sales and technical expertise. Mitsubishi says that Dave’s World excelled in all three areas.
“Dave’s World, in a state with only 1.3 million residents, and roughly 441,000 homes, has become one of the largest dealers in our nationwide network of Diamond Contractors, surpassing companies in markets ten times the size of Dave’s World’s service area,” said Roger Willett, area sales manager in Maine and New Hampshire for Mitsubishi. “That incredible success is tied directly to their dedication to not only selling the product, but educating the public about it.”
Mitsubishi Electric has about 750 Diamond Contractors in the country. Diamond Contractors must meet certain standards set forth by the company, allowing dealers to show their customers that they have achieved a certain level of training, expertise and customer satisfaction.
Dave’s World has locations in Dover-Foxcroft, Windham and Scarborough, and an annual payroll of more than $2.5 million. In business for more than 30 years, Dave’s World’s three locations allow the company to service all of Maine. The business has seen heat pump sales and installs on the rise steadily in recent years, with no signs of slowing down.
“Maine has such dramatic temperature shifts over the course of the year, heat pumps really are tremendous products for people in this state,” Scott said. “Customers are amazed when we do the installs at how well the units blend into their home, how quiet they run, and how efficient they are. It truly is amazing technology.”
