Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital recognized for quality

GREENVILLE — Charles A. (CA) Dean Memorial Hospital has been recognized with the prestigious award of being a Top Rural Hospital by the Leapfrog Group. CA Dean is one of the seven rural hospitals in Maine to receive this recognition. The Leapfrog Hospital Survey is the gold standard for comparing hospitals’ performance on the national standards for safety, quality and efficiency that are most relevant to consumers and purchasers of care.
Top rural hospitals must meet Leapfrog’s standards for preventing medication errors, as well as score in the top percentile from the Leapfrog Hospital survey. More than 1,600 hospitals in the U.S. submitted survey results. Only 21 hospitals in the nation were recognized as Top Rural Hospitals. CA Dean also earned this designation in 2013 and 2014.
“The best part of an award like this is that it reaffirms the great care and attention to detail of our people at CA Dean” said Geno Murray, president and CEO. “I am incredibly proud of the staff at CA Dean and the commitment they have to their hard work in order to provide quality healthcare to the patients we see here.”
In 2016 CA Dean has also been honored with Avatar International awards for Exceeding Patient Expectations, Cleanliness and Communications with Nurses; the Maine Tobacco Free Hospital Network’s 2016 Gold Level Award Tobacco-Free Environment; and a Most Wired, 2016 recognition by Hospitals and Health Networks.
