Marvin Shane

BANGOR – Marvin Shane, beloved Father, Grampee, and Great-Grampee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 16th, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Marvin was born on June 22nd, 1933, in Malden, Massachusetts, the son of Charles and Lillian Shane.
Marvin graduated from Gardiner High School. Following graduating high school Marvin attended school at MCI in Pittsfield, Maine and then the University of Maine in Orono, prior to being drafted into the U.S. Army. After the war, he returned home to work for many years as the manager of Clements Egg Farms in Belmont, Maine. After retirement, he kept busy shuttling cars for Quirk Auto Group and Varney GMC, then most recently working for Republic Parking at the Bangor Airport parking lot. A proud Mason, he was a member of Amity Lodge #6 of Rockport, ME since 1963.
Marvin is predeceased by his parents and older sister, Charlotte Small. He is survived by two sisters, Ann Needle and her husband, Samuel, and Marsha Brann. Marvin’s legacy is lived on thru his two children, Yvette Cook, and Craig Shane, with his wife, Kathleen; his loving grandchildren, Samantha Shane and her partner, Gary Gerow, Danielle Cook and her fiancé, Rick Prosser, Todd Shane and his fiancé, Haley O’leary; and step-grandsons, Keith and Sean Adams; great-grandchildren, Olivia Gerow, Emery Shane, and Garrett Gerow; as well as several nieces, nephews and great-nieces.
A family funeral service was held at the Stanetsky Memorial Chapel in Canton, MA on Monday, July 18th, with interment immediately following at Sharon Memorial Park in Sharon, MA.

The family is deeply grateful for the care they provided in keeping him comfortable and able to be at his home during his final days. A special thank you to Dr. Hassan for her loving care and his team of fantastic nurses and aids from Beacon Hospice. Desiree, Jean, Janis, and Kristen, thank you again for everything you did and the amount of compassion you had for our dad.
