BANGOR – Samuel “Sam” John Cooper passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Sam was born in Vestal, New York on September 3rd, 1936.
He was a graduate of Johnson City High school in Johnson City, N.Y. He served proudly in the United States Air Force and served his country in Viet Nam. Sam retired from the Air Force in 1975, after twenty years of service. He then worked another twenty years for Maine Energy a local business.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elaine; daughter, Gail; son, David and his wife, Cynthia; a grandson, Matthew; and a great-granddaughter, Alexis; his brother, Paul and his wife, Ginny; a niece, Becky and her husband, Paul.
