Van Buren – Rita M. Jambard, aka Rita Bard, 91, died Monday, July 25, 2016, at a Caribou hospital. She was born June 19, 1925, in Lawrence, MA, to the late Joseph and Emilie (Levesque) Laverdiere and was raised in Van Buren.
Rita was a parishioner of St. Bruno-St. Remi Church and long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post #49, Van Buren. She was a devoted mother and loved to dote on her loving children. She like to sew and knit items to share, tending her flower garden, and always enjoyed a good card game with company.
She is survived by three sons, Raymond Jambard and his, Julienne of St. Leonard, NB, Canada, Roger Jambard of Casselberry, FL, and Stephen Jambard and his wife, Diane of Grand Falls, NB, Canada; four daughters, Carline Michaud and her husband, Adrien of Salem, NH, Linda Jambard of Van Buren, Stella Cote and her husband, Jacques of Fredericton, NB, Canada, and Lisa Parker and her husband, Scott of Winchester, NH; one brother, Roland Laverdiere of Van Buren; one sister, Bernadette Cormier of Van Buren; 10 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Rita is predeceased by her husband, Clifford J. Jambard, in 1994; and three sisters, Alma Soucy, Cecile Klaneski and Aline Bowley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Friday, July 29, 2016, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and Friday morning 9-10:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
