Students will raise voices and lift spirits in two concerts
GUILFORD — Piscataquis Community Elementary School students will be demonstrating their skills as classes, groups and individuals use their voices, instruments and movement on two separate nights during the holiday season. Kindergarten through grade 3 will perform on Monday, Dec. 5 from 6 until 7:30 p.m. in the Piscataquis Community Secondary School gymnasium.
Grades 4-6 will be raising their voices and instruments on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Piscataquis Community Elementary School gymnasium. These concerts are an annual tradition and memorable occasion that parents and friends do not want to miss.
The selections will include many popular holiday classics, as well as performances on recorders by the fourth-graders, grade 5 beginner band, and sixth-grade band. Students take great pride in their accomplishments and enjoy the support of parents and friends.
Attendance is free at these concerts, but the public is invited to bring a donation for the school’s giving tree. Every year students bring in non-perishable food items which make their way from the giving tree to the local food cupboards.
These concerts are an annual tradition during which the community enjoys the warmth of the season and the talents of the kids. As they raise their voices they truly lift the spirits of those who attend.
