NAMI to host presentation on advocacy for disabled children
GUILFORD — The Maine Parent Federation (MPF) has been helping parents with children who have disabilities throughout Maine since 1984. Operating as a private, non-profit organization, it provides education, advocacy and support to families at no cost. Whether a child has an emotional or behavioral disorder, an intellectual disability or a physical disability, MPF can help with free workshops, support, and print resources.
Advocacy will be the topic presented by Ann Long, MPF representative, during a NAMI Piscataquis County special speaker event on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m.at the Guilford Memorial Library. If you are a parent who needs help advocating for your disabled child, consider attending this presentation.
