FA X-C runs at Ellsworth

ELLSWORTH — The Foxcroft Academy cross country teams opened the 2015 season by running in the Ellsworth Invitational on Sept. 5.

The Pony boys scored 211 points to place 10th out of 12 schools. Leading the way was senior Gabe Piquette, who covered the three miles in 19 minutes, 41.17 seconds to place 24th out of 82 finishers.

Other point-scorers were junior Liam Casey, 42nd at 20:46.10; freshman Nicholas Daneman, 56th at 21:30.55; junior Ethan Poland, 57th at 21:32.31; and senior Hunter Giacomuzzi, 62nd at 22:22.30. Also competing for Foxcroft was sophomore Kazu Kawashima, 73rd at 23:26.49, and senior Joon Yeob Kim, 79th at 24:45.71.

The girls from Foxcroft came in ninth out of 10 teams with 203 points. Senior Jen Clawson finished 10th in a field of 68 with a time of 22:18.45.

The other four Pony runners were senior Alice Russo, 43rd at 26:12.61; junior Sujeong Kim, 55th at 28:17.31; senior Elena Russo, 59th at 29:08.52; and sophomore Virginia Macomber, 60th at 29:23.84.
