Support group aims to empower and provide healing

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Community Health and Counseling Services (CHCS) and Rape Response Services (RRS) will host a six-week support group, Sister Quest. Sister Quest, aims to help members develop personal skills to manage the effects of sexual violence, harassment, rape, sexual assault and incest. The purpose of the group is to provide an environment that participants can benefit from mutual support, education and understanding. The topics and activities provide opportunities to assist in the healing process of women who have been affected by sexual violence.

The group will meet Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon beginning Sept. 16 and ending Oct. 21 with two makeup days on Oct. 28 and Nov.  4. The group will be closed to new members after the second meeting to allow for a familiar, empowering and healing environment.
