American-Flag-ColorPO-DermithMcEwenOBDEXTER – Dermith A. McEwen, 83, died January 20, 2015, at the home of his son, Michael McEwen, after a long illness. He passed away peacefully in the company of his family. He was born in Guilford, ME, on July 7, 1931, to Mildred and Austin McEwen.
    Dermith enlisted in the U.S. Army at 17 years of age and was a Korean War veteran serving a four year term. He worked for much of his years as a furnace technician, retiring from Webber Oil Company. He taught his family about good work ethic and to do what was best for the security of home and family and will be missed dearly.
    Dermith was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn; and his brothers, James and Vincent.
    Surviving are his daughter, Dorine Morgan of Townville, SC; sons, Michael and his wife, Denise, of Dexter, Gary and his wife, Suzanne, of Sangerville, and Cory and his wife, Toni, of Gramling, SC; his brother, Pete; three sisters, Sandra Smith and her husband, Buddy, Dottie Nemer, and Diana Patterson; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
    Dermith requested that there be no funeral services held.
