ELM STREET FIRE
Firefighters from Milo, along with crews from Brownville, Dover-Foxcroft and Sebec, fought a fire at a three-story home on the corner of Elm and Belmont streets in Milo during the early evening of Wednesday, Jan. 14. According to media reports, the state fire marshal’s office ruled the blaze, which destroyed the home, was accidental.

The cause appears to have been a log rolling out of the fireplace, which lacked a protective screen, and igniting a box of kindling when the homeowner was not present.
