Short list of items facing Greenville selectmen
Staff Report
GREENVILLE — The Greenville Board of Selectmen has a short agenda to deal with at their Wednesday, Dec. 3 meeting.
The annual liquor license for the International Seaplane Fly-In will be up for approval. The event takes place in September 2015.
There is one tax abatement and one supplemental on the agenda and the agent to the Board of Assessors recommends approval.
Several options on the northbound snowmobile trail in the community are still being pursued, according to Town Manager John Simko. However, only the Scammon Road option requires selectmen’s action. A proposed letter to property owners along this road will be presented to the board at Wednesday’s meeting; and if approved, it will go out the following day.
Finally, the town, with Maine DOT and FAA funds, has invested heavily in infrastructure at the Greenville Municipal Airport and the current capital improvement plan calls for further renovations in upcoming years. However, operations at the airport — as well as compliance with current regulations — could be improved.
The airport manager will present a course of action which is designed to make the airport more user friendly and therefore beneficial to the town and the region, according to Simko.
The meeting gets underway at 6:30 p.m. in the municipal building community room.
