MOOSE ON THE RUN — Racers get ready for the 2013 Camden National Bank Moose on the Run race in Greenville. This year’s race takes place on Sunday, Oct. 12, with the 5K at 10:30 a.m. and 1K for kids at 9:30 a.m.

“We’re happy to have the race begin and end at C.A. Dean Hospital again this year.” said Patrick Myers who is organizing the race for the Piscataquis Regional YMCA. “It wonderful that the hospital opens its doors for the race. We’re so lucky to have Camden National Bank and C.A. Dean Hospital as our partners in supporting a healthy community.”
The 1K Fun Run for kids 12 and under will start at 9:30 a.m. The 5K will begin with the walkers leaving at 10 a.m. and then the runners will leave at 10:30 a.m. Again this year, all the proceeds from the race will go towards YMCA scholarships and programs for Moosehead-area residents.
“We want the people and businesses in the Moosehead area to know that when they support Moose on the Run they are also supporting their community,” Myers said.
The first 100 registrants will receive a commemorative shirt. Participants will also receive a goody bag filled with treats and be eligible to win prizes donated by local businesses. In Greenville, the public can pick up registration forms at Camden National Bank or the Visitor’s Center. Forms are also available at the PRYMCA in Dover-Foxcroft, by calling the Y at 564-7111 or online at www.prymca.org/events.
The PRYMCA is a cause-driven organization that is committed to the community and dedicated to promoting healthy spirit, mind, and body for all, through programs and services grounded in Christian Heritage and the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
